"EMU OIL CAPSULES ...

  • EMU OIL FOOD CAPSULES (All natural product) DIETARY SUPPLEMENT (90 Caps @ 750 mg each) The use of emu oil has increased, as more knowledge becomes available with continued world-wide research confirming the many benefits of this natural oil as a food capsule. Emu oil was first used hundreds of years ago as a traditional medicine by indigenous tribes of Australia who have survived one of the harshest climates in the world by finding their means of survival in nature itself. Emu oil contains Omega 3-6-9 Plus Vitamin E for regeneration of Body Cells Today, research shows that the regular use of emu oil food capsules may have beneficial effects on: reducing the excess quantities of saturated LDL (bad) fat in your diet lowering cholesterol levels, reducing the risks of cardiovascular disease increasing your metabolic rate, thereby enabling weight loss. BATTLING HIGH CHOLESTEROL by Luann Long Cholesterol, a fatty substance in the blood vessels, is either manufactured naturally by the body, or is obtained from animal and other fats (called “saturated fats”) in food. In excessive amounts, cholesterol can cause health problems. Americans who generally eat a diet heavy in cholesterol-rich foods have an alarmingly high rate of heart disease, which is the leading cause of death in the United States. The close relationship between cholesterol and heart disease, while it has not yet been absolutely proven, is accepted by almost all medical authorities. They believe that hardening of the arteries is probably linked to excess blood cholesterol which forms deposits on the insides of blood vessels. As the deposits increase, the passageways of the circulatory system gradually narrow, until the flow of blood is obstructed. When the cholesterol build-up occurs in an artery carrying blood to the heart, the end result is often a heart attack. Blood cholesterol levels can be determined by a blood test. Usually other factors are determined as well. Triglycerides blood fats: Some suggest that high triglyceride levels might increase the risk of heart disease. VLDL (Very Low Density Lipoproteins) the combination of cholesterol protein and fats (including triglycerides). These particles get their name from the relatively low weight or density of their protein. As they travel through the body, most of the triglycerides are removed for energy or to be stored as fat and are eventually converted to LDL’s. LDL (Low Density Lipoproteins) are small particles containing mostly cholesterol and protein. Many are removed from the bloodstream by cells throughout the body, used for essential bodily functions. Some people’s systems remove LDL’s more slowly than others, which causes high LDL’s. LDL’s build up in their blood and has a tendency to deposit the cholesterol and other fatty substances in the walls of the arteries. HDL (High Density Lipoproteins) act as scavengers in the bloodstream attracting cholesterol and carrying it back to the liver, where it is either reprocessed in new VDL’s or broken down into substances called bile acids and removed from the body. HDL’s help to reduce the amount of cholesterol that is present in the blood. The higher the HDL level, the less risk of developing heart disease. If cholesterol triglycerides and LDL levels are too high a low-cholesterol diet is usually prescribed which would consist of lean meats, poultry and fish, skim milk products and foods prepared with polyunsaturated fats. Medication, which often produces side effects, is also regularly prescribed to combat this disease. In the last few years, the healing ability of emu oil has been identified for treating burns and as a remedy for arthritis and sports injuries. Today, a growing number of individuals are documenting the effects of using emu oil for the purpose of reducing their cholesterol. Sherry Smith of Lucedale, Mississippi. Sherry Smith submitted the following recap of her experience while taking emu oil internally: In May of 1995 I was experiencing some medical problems. I made an appointment with my physician who practices internal medicine. He began with a series of tests. My cholesterol level was 312. My physician warned me that it was at a dangerous level, and that I had to get it lower. He prescribed two drugs for me: Mevoccore and Zocar. One of the side effects of both medications was that they can cause liver damage. Unwilling to risk this, I did not take the medications he prescribed. In the meantime we had slaughtered some emus and began eating emu meat in place of beef. My husband had heard of some studies where people were taking emu oil internally and that it had helped to lower their cholesterol. He did some research and got some emu oil in gel cap form. Then we decided to monitor my cholesterol to determine if the gel caps had any effect on it. I made another appointment to have my cholesterol checked so that I would have before and after results. This time it was 270. My physician was pleased that it had come down some, but said that it was still too high for my age, which was thirty-six. He said the medication that he had prescribed had helped but that he wanted to change it and that he wanted me to come back in two weeks to have a test done on my liver. I finally got my nerve up to tell him that I had not taken any medication. I told him that I had been eating emu meat in place of beef, and other than that I had not done anything different, and that I pretty much eat what I want. I talked with him about the emu and the possibilities of the oil. He showed some interest but said that my cholesterol probably was a disease that was inherited and that I would have to follow a low fat diet and take medication for the rest of my life. I then broke the news that I was going to start taking the emu oil gel-caps and that I wanted him to document it on my medical records. He wasn’t very optimistic. Despite my decision he sent me on my way with a new prescription. I started taking the emu oil gel-caps that night and wrote down the date: August 12, 1996. For a week or so I only took one gel-cap a day (every night before bed). The thought of taking emu oil internally was not my cup of tea. I didn't take it as seriously as my husband and didn't put a lot of faith in it. On December 12th I returned to my physician to have my cholesterol checked again. That morning my husband stressed the importance of this test. I was worried that by taking only one gel-cap a day, my cholesterol was going to be high, not to mention the Thanksgiving dinner I ate and the fact that I had fried steak and gravy, broccoli and cheese the night before my test. Well to my surprise, my cholesterol had once again come down. This time it was 247. I also had lost six pounds in weight. My physician was surprised too. I explained that I had been taking the emu oil gel-caps and still eating emu meat in place of beef. He said, If it works, then I can't knock it if it works for you keep doing what you're doing. He documented my records and gave me copies. Now I'm taking two emu gel-caps a day and will be checked again in approximately eight weeks. After the excitement wore off I realised that since I began taking the emu oil internally, I have not been sick. Not even a cold. By this time of the year, I usually have had the flu and bronchitis, which I have a hard time fighting because I smoke. I honestly believe now that emu oil has lowered my cholesterol and made me healthier. I wanted to share this information in hopes that someone else will benefit from this miracle oil and that additional tests will be done. Listed below is a chart with a complete breakdown of my cholesterol results. August 1995 (Started Eating Emu Meat) CHOL – 312 TRIG – 143 LDL – 288 HDL – 80 June 1996 (Emu Meat – one gel-cap) CHOL – 270 TRIG – 88 LDL – 210 HDL – 42 December 1996 (Test results) CHOL –247 TRIG – 88 LDL – 192 HDL – 37 There have been several other limited studies illustrating the cholesterol-lowering studies illustrating the cholesterol-lowering effects of daily ingestion of emu oil. According to a patent issued in December 1995, one such example is of a 38 year old female who ingested approximately five drops or one teaspoon of emu oil per day. Prior to the patients ingestion of emu oil, testing on January 6, 1993 found the following results: Cholesterol 272 mg/dl TRG 103 mg/dl LDL 193 mg/dl HDL 58 mg/dl The patient began taking emu oil following the test but not on a regular basis. Test results 13 months later. Cholesterol 231 mg/dl TRIG 87 mg/dl LDL 171 mg/dl HDL 43 mg/dl 3 months later when patient was testing approx one teaspoon of emu oil per day on a more regular basis. Cholesterol 210 mg/dl TRIG 59 mg/dl LDL 132 mg/dl HDL 36 mg/dl Another example documented within the same patent is of a 60 year old female who ingested seven to ten drops of emu oil per day. This patient had previously taken Mevocore for lowering of her cholesterol and suffered side effects including hair loss. No side effects have been suffered while taking emu oil. The first cholesterol test was taken on July 27 1993 prior to this patient’s ingestion of emu oil. Total cholesterol 292 mg/dl TRIG 233 mg/dl LDL 205 mg/dl HDL 40 mg/dl After ingesting one teaspoon of em oil every day, testing of February 2, 1994 indicated the following: Total cholesterol 264 mg/dl TRIG 239 mg/dl LDL 179 mg/dl HDL 38 mg/dl The patient reveals that the inventors believe a preferable dose for adults is one teaspoon of emu oil per day, although this will vary based on weight and age of individual. Emu oil is being explored for beneficial effects on many other ailments as well: cuts and burns, menstrual pains, etc. Limited studies suggest that emu oil merits additional attention as a natural remedy in diverse applications. The oil from the emu is not the only by-product from this bird that seems to contribute to cholesterol reduction in the human body. Other studies also suggest that emu meat may help lower cholesterol. A group of 18 volunteer participants were placed on a diet consisting of lean red meat for 28 days. The red meat used in the study consisted of ostrich, emu and rhea. In only 28 days, cholesterol levels for the women in the group showed an average decrease of 12.5% and the males averaged a 17.9% decrease. Additionally, all 18 participants lost weight. Cholesterol reduction appears to be yet another relatively unexplored field where emu products may provide a positive contribution to a healthy lifestyle.
